Caravan of Love

Caravan of Love

Caravan of Love magnify

Caravan of Love

We are a caravan of love, of lonely lovers,
Whose story no one can begin nor end,
We are in love with love,
That which moves life in secret.

We proceed at a glacial pace,
Yet we are swifter than Ishtar's arrows of light.

We are sons and daughters of the Earth's humility,
Yet it is in her bosom that we kiss Pleiades.

We do not set at defiance the law of gravitation,
Yet the elixir of love in the wind longs for us with a mad longing.

We do not demand insight nor capacity,
Yet we find life's nakedness and beauty's vastness in our old wine.

We know not our great age,
Yet we find that time can never quiet our quivering strings.

We don the garment of non-existence,
Yet we find the Infinitely Vast there, in our nakedness.

We conceal ourselves in the tavern of ruin and shyness,
Yet it is in there that we are seen by the unseen and heard by the unheard.

The poets of life's seasons are with us,
The summits of beauty are our heights,
Love is our domain, nay our winged Self.

Our Reality is the Silence between knowledge and understanding,
That which is shadowless, even as the sky is shadowless unto the Earth.

We quiver in the Sea of our hearts' knowledge,
The Infinitude which is buried in ourselves.

We do not say, "We have found the Truth,"
Rather, the Truth finds us in our silence.

In our breath is the myrrh made of the sunlight and the wind,
Our song is sung by the grass and the breeze in the morning light.

The world, drunk with greatness' lust and shadow,
Seeks to possess and fold us in its raiment,
But we destroy it upon modesty's yoke and with innocence's laughter,
Thus the boundless Sea that life is laughs with us.

Come, let us walk this road of longing to the end,
Return love for love,
And drink from the Beloved's Sea,
Which is a Silence hidden behind your silence,
The Presence of Intimacy on the endless horizon.

Ishq,

{Dani}
